A growing number of state wildlife agencies are establishing partnerships with the outdoors industry in the form of cooperative advertising and corporate sponsorships. The trend not only boosts retailers' revenues as it also improves communication between agencies and the public. While the agency acts as the supplier of the recreational opportunity, the retailer supplies the equipment necessary to take advantage of that opportunity. One such example of an agency/retailer partnership involves the Office of Informational Service for the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and some nature-based businesses.
