A truly capable lean-thinking organization focuses on building people first and does not draw a line in the sand where you have had enough. A lean organization does not do most of its talent development through training but through coaching and everyday learning. Experimentation is a powerful method within the learning process. As problem solving and improvement work is performed, instead of only validating a solution, a real hypothesis is developed. By requiring hypothesis development, individuals are forced to put their knowledge, assumptions and understanding into a statement. Another powerful method a lean organization utilizes to drive embedded learning in the organization is reflection. What is important is that you enter the activity with intent to learn.
