Trip Back in Time

Summary

Thresherman Park is located just outside Boonville, but on Oct. 12 the activities in the park were located just outside the 20th century. Warrick County fourth-graders were transported back in time by members of the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Club, who hosted Pioneer Day at the park. The field trip included dozens of demonstrations of the way life was lived on the farm before the advent of electricity. The students saw and participated in old- fashioned activities such as black smithing, horse-drawn plowing, weaving, butter making, quilting and more. Pioneer Day was held in conjunction with the annual Thresherman Park Fall Festival.
