Treasurer Disapproves Funds for Maricopa County Regional School District

State Treasurer David Petersen has withdrawn his earlier approval of more than $250,000 in advance funding for the financially strapped Maricopa County Regional School District, Arizona Capitol Times confirmed today.

But the development does not mean the special schools, which serve non-traditional populations, including children of the homeless, will close, said County Superintendent Sandra Dowling.
