For some reason I can't quite define, I'm irritated by Sharper Image. There's a smugness about it that rubs me the wrong way, like, "You think you have a nice razor? You don't know shit about nice razors. Our razors win NASCAR races, for God's sake!" But I will say this: For the casual music listener and social introvert, the store's noise-canceling headphones are a blast. I tested them initially in the airport, and found I was able to make innumerable wailing children and muddy PA announcements disappear with the flick of a switch. And my iPod music has never sounded so good, which is important since I find the Apple earbuds uncomfortably invasive. The only problem with these headphones is that they're kind of huge. Like, if you turned to p. 41, where we ask people "What's on Your iPod?", you'd see me looking very Natalie-Portman-wearing-cinnamon-buns-on-her-head-in-Star Wars. Instead of "What's on your iPod?", you'd be more inclined to ask, "What's on your head?" But here's my answer, all you mockers: not your voices, so there!
