What makes the coming storm so unnerving is the period of calm weather that has lasted two police careers. The 1980 Dodge St. Régis, the 1988 Ford Crown Victoria, the 1996 Chevy Caprice and the 2008 Ford CVPI are all the basically same. They are all real-life, full-size cars with about the same wheelbase, small V-8 engines, rear wheel drive, real back seats, and real trunk space. The mainline police sedan has remained essentially unchanged, and that will soon dramatically change.
