Summary
For the millions of workers, distributors and salespeople, their jobs truly are on the line. And a truly bad economy will hit all in the end. The U.S. Congress in a way misses the point - the legislators should overlook the fat cats and see the poor church mice who struggle from day to day. And that is exactly what the three companies are made of-hardworking people like we all know. All of the workers, the women and men who have been making American cars for years, need the federal government's help, and more regulation on keeping out or reducing import cars. I understand only too well the bale-out blues the U.S. Congress and the President are feeling now. I also understand their disgust at the fat cats who run GM, Chrysler and Ford. But in my view, listen to the chairman of the UAW, for he speaks about the ordinary men and women who are the true backbone of the three car companies. Please help these wonderful people before all three companies go under and there lies true disaster.
