I met not long ago with a well-known entrepreneur who told me the nation's public schools had a reputation for low quality, bad management, low productivity and high cost. He predicted education would be America's next health care, meaning an industry in trouble, ripe for a private-sector takeover. More recently, I met with a venture capitalist.
