It is a season of bad weather they say, and unfortunately, our neighbour Thailand was hit first. The country is seeing its worst flooding in the past half a century and so far, the floods have struck 62 of the country's 76 provinces in the North, Northeast and Central region. It has been reported that at least 320 people have been killed and nine million of the population have been affected by the flooding, which started end-July. Although the floods have since become more concentrated in the centre of the country along the Chao Phraya river basin, as the rainwaters flow out towards the sea, there is worry that the situation may yet worsen in the Thai capital of Bangkok over the next few weeks, considering that the monsoon rains typically only ease in November.See the full content of this document
