Between 1944 and 1959, an era referred to as the Atomic Age, 13 Texas bankers were just beginning their careers. At the time, the economy was shifting, setting off a recession similar to the one currently plaguing the nation. In May, the Texas Bankers Foundation honored these bankers with 50-Year Banker Awards, noting their half century or more of service and dedication to the banking industry. Three of the bankers who were honored are: Mary Jane Moses of Waxahachie has worked for Citizens National Bank for all 52 years of her career. Donald E. Reily of Lufkin has been in banking for 65 years. Joe H Sharp Jr. of Hawkins is a consultant for Austin bank in Jacksonville.
