As first-year Tecumseh volleyball coach Katie Johnson looks back at her two losses to Boonville and Castle at the beginning of the season, she doesn't see them as early setbacks. She looks at those losses and sees the reason the Braves are in such a good position now.

"We played them really well," said Johnson, who took over this year when Russ Neuman stepped down after taking the assistant principal's job at Tecumseh. "Then we got a little easier schedule. We stayed playing at the same level -- whether it was Boonville or Castle or Cannelton."
