Rebel Kreklow has initiated and encouraged changes in the TeleCommunications Association (TCA) during his 1994 presidency. He has moved TCA away from its image as a regional organization, and he has made a particular effort to promote the annual convention, to be held in San Diego on Oct 3-7, which will include a Solutions Center on the exhibition floor, where multivendor applications will be demonstrated. TCA is changing because of both internal and external pressures, and Kreklow believes that the organization must evolve into an information technology organization if it is to survive. He suggests that it is time to move away from titles such as telecommunications specialist or manager and become information technology specialists and managers, which would more accurately reflect contemporary reality.
