As the leading voice in the risk management profession, Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc (RIMS) has been a strong proponent of enterprise risk management (ERM). That commitment took a great leap forward last November, when RIMS launched the Risk Maturity Model for ERM, an online resource that provides guidelines and best practices for developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management program. The RIMS Risk Maturity Model presents a five-level progression for program maturity ranging from "Non-existent" to "Leadership." The drivers for the systematic progression of levels are termed "Attributes" and include ERM Process Management, Risk Appetite Management, Uncovering Risks, and Business Resiliency and Sustainability.
