Associations; Telecommunications Associations Council

The fifth annual Telecommunications Associations Council (TAC) met during Jun 1991. The TAC includes the nine associations that represent over 90 percent of the telecommunications community. The International Communications Association acted as host, and there was 100 percent representation of TAC members. Member representatives report back to the leadership of their respective associations. Agenda items included such areas as results of a research study of 13 associations, review and survey of association offices, scheduling of conferences and other events, vendor-supplier and association relationships. A worldwide trend towards liberalization was discussed by a representative from International Telecomm Users Group. A lack of awareness in the international regulatory arena was discovered.
