[Pearl Qui]ñones is an executive board member on the California Latino School Board Members Association and the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO). Her leadership in helping align district spending priorities with student achievement helped earn her the Tribute to Women in Industry Award from the San Diego County YWCA. She has served as a Hispanas Organized for Political Equity (HOPE) fellow and last year was one of 22 Latinas throughout the United States to be selected to the National Hispana Leadership Institute.
