There's always the concern of having someone have to wear a scarlet letter around, that we are a culture also that believes that people can make mistakes and recover from those mistakes and shouldn't have to bear the marking of that mistake forever, said St. Louis attorney Michael Downey, who defends lawyers facing disciplinary charges.
