Evansville's plans to build a new sewage treatment plant are on hold until October at the earliest. That is when a trial is scheduled in the lawsuit a group of Evansville businesses filed against the city to block it from raising sewer rates.

The Evansville Business Alliance, an informal group of six companies, sued the city June 17 to block a 15.8 percent sewer-rate increase from taking effect.
