They shouted out the perfunctory "I-O" in response to the communal cry, "OH!" They attended a town hall meeting at which OSU President E. Gordon Gee and Mac Stewart, vice provost of minority affairs, reaffirmed the university's commitment to diversity.

Barbara Harris of Cleveland didn't really do bodily harm to Alumni Association President Archie Griffin for identifying her as the alumna who had high seniority among those who attended. In fact, the Class of '49 standout treated the two-time Heisman Trophy winner the same as everybody else - she hugged him.

She admired the renovations at the Frank W. Hale Jr. Black Cultural Center, where workshops, a health fair and other activities were held on Saturday. She chuckled about a discussion with Hale, the driving force behind many of the university's diversity efforts, which revealed him as an "old man," five days her elder.
