Stone & Webster Engineering Corp.'s AT&T Definity Communications System Generic series

Stone and Webster Engineering Corp opted for AT and T's Definity Communications System Generic PBX system to link its field engineers with other experts around the world. The engineering and construction company uses Generic 1, Generic 2 and Generic 3 switches and AT&T fiber-optic T1 circuits with local area network configuration to link its US and European offices. Video, data and voice can be received and transmitted around the world via these dedicated circuits, and the system enables engineers to meet through video-conferencing and voice mail instead of having to fly to one physical meeting place. Stone & Webster anticipates converting to ISDN as soon as enough ISDN-compatible networks are in place.
