Of course that's the point in this send-up of not only Hollywood, but the FBI, the Mob and ordinary citizens on both edges of the country. The premise is that Hollywood's pull is irresistible. Give any red-blooded American the chance to shout those magic words: "And...action!" into a bullhorn, and he'll sell his grandmother, and throw in his little sister as a bonus.

FBI agent Joe Devine ([Alec Baldwin]) is the point man for the agency's plot. His assignment is to pose as a film producer, line up a script and a director, and start "work" on a movie that's never going to be made. Somehow, [John Gotti] is to be ensnared in this plot--don't ask how. Of course, finding a script in Hollywood is as easy as finding a wad of used gum on the sidewalk. Sitting on a bus bench, Devine attracts dozens of Tinseltown types, all pitching their screenplays.
