Summary


This year's Jerusalem Ridge bluegrass festival, Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 at the Bill Monroe homeplace at Rosine, isn't so much about music as it is survival of hopes to honor the "Father of Bluegrass" in his home county.

It's about continuity, says Campbell Mercer, executive director of the Bill Monroe Foundation, which oversees the restored Monroe homeplace, and which this year is struggling to stage the third annual festival.
