Summary
Stephen Troy, president of AeroFund Financial, is profiled about his collection of historical documents. His fascination with business history began as a child reading biographies of business leaders. On a trip to Vegas in the 1980s, he delved further into his interest when he saw a store selling autographs of famous people. After deciding which piece to purchase (Marilyn Monroe's contract with 20th Century Fox), he got hooked. Steve formulated a plan of what he'd like in a document collection, did research on interesting pieces and started looking at auctions and dealers. From one autograph purchased on a whim, his collection has grown to over 100 pieces, with documents from George Washington, Ben Franklin and Al Capone. The majority of his collection consists of documents by people who had some impact on business. He estimates that his collection is probably about 80% business leaders and 20% American historical figures.
