Does John Hart enjoy coaching minor league football? The answer can be found in South Dakota. Hart, who just complete his sixth season as head football coach at Reitz, is about to start his second season as the on-field boss of the Evansville BlueCats, who play in United Indoor Football, an independent arena league, where the pay is low, the bus rides long and the odds of a player catching a National Football League scout's eye are even longer.

Hart doesn't need to coach the BlueCats. The demands of his job at Reitz could easily fill his calendar year round. His BlueCats stipend provides a nice bump from his teacher's salary, but it won't retire him any time soon.
