MANY INTERNAL AUDIT DIRECTORS HAVE MIXED EMOTIONS ABOUT conducting an independent quality assessment (QA) (formerly known as a quality assurance review) once every five years, as mandated by The IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards).
