Summary
Speaking of Music Maker, the Hillsbofoughbased organization has just released Fiddler's Dream, an excellent 24-track collection of tunes from BENTON FLIPPEN & THE SMOKE VALLEY BOYS. Music Maker president Timothy Duffy first met Flippen during a college summer in 1982, when he and a friend traveled across North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee every weekend for different fiddler's conventions. Flippen continues to play at the Mount Airy Fiddlers Convention. Flippen plays the Warehouse Blues series in Durham's West Village Courtyard Friday, June 22, at 6 p.m. The show is free.
