THE country's second oldest English daily, The Malay Mail, may be up for sale. Industry sources say the board of the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) has broached the idea of hiving off the newspaper to avoid further strain on the company's bottom line.
The Malay Mail has a 109-year-old history. At one time, people used to wait for the earliest issue of the then mid-morning paper (which now hits the streets much earlier).
