SATOP operates four locations throughout the United States, including a Syracuse office in the Syracuse Technology Garden at 235 Harrison St. SATOP linked Conceptual Grey with Jeffrey Brawner, an engineer with DeWitt-based Sensis Corp., to help find a drill motor with the proper amount of torque needed to burr a hole into human bone. Measuring and regulating the amount of torque the drill required to burr a hole into human bone was elusive because manufacturers of promising hardware would not release any technical specifications for proprietary reasons, Brawne'r says.
