Victor Karpov had two goals for his visit to the United States: see the U.S. Supreme Court and watch a jury trial. He did both, along with sitting on a Harley, meeting the governor of Kansas and shopping on the Country Club Plaza.

The stories of shopping by him and four other visiting Russian judges are "greatly exaggerated," said Karpov, the 11th Arbitration Appeals Court deputy chief judge from Samara.
