Summary
To be perfectly frank, however, I must say it's unfortunate that G&S wrote a second act for Ruddigore, and that the Savoyards decided to stage it and that I had to sit through it. This act adds nothing except leaden situations and a longer running time, neither of which is needed. While I would never recommend leaving a show at intermission, I will say that you'll love the first act of Ruddigore.
