Summary
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is busy getting plans squared away if, by chance, wolves should be delisted and returned to state management. The first time wolves were delisted, the Idaho management plan passed the federal test, and it will be virtually unchanged if the species is delisted again.
That plan calls for a limited hunting system to keep wolves at a predetermined population level. Officials are looking at current numbers, as well as conflict areas, and expect to present harvest level recommendations by late summer. Early estimates report 824 wolves in Idaho with 88 packs and 38 breeding pairs.See the full content of this document
