Tom Beach hopes his Forest Park basketball team, which has a high- octane offense, can play defense similar to what it played during the Southridge Sectional last week when it defeated Tell City and South Spencer.

"Our defense was outstanding in the sectional after our first- round game," said Beach, who piloted the Rangers to the 2005 Class 2A state championship. "Our offense was a little sluggish in the first game against Tell City (a 70-57 win). We played our best defense of the year in the sectional in that Saturday championship game against South Spencer (a 50-37 win)."
