It is commonly accepted that any organization must find, establish and operate from a well defined niche in order to thrive. The National Environmental Health Assn (NEHA) is no exception from this rule. Yet an examination of this non-profit group's activities will indicate that it actually covers all niches to be found within the environmental field. The NEHA may therefore be considered an organization that is all things to all people.

Anyone who has ever had a successful run at managing a business knows how important it is to establish a niche. When operating from a well-defined niche the well-positioned business becomes "widely known and highly regarded" for a certain product by a certain market segment.
