Effectiveness of employee communication programs

Employee attitude surveys conducted by General Electric and Hewlett-Packard Co (HP) revealed that employee communication programs generated measurable results. The results indicated that there was a positive relationship between job satisfaction and managers' ability to communicate with employees. HP, which has always encouraged open communication throughout the organization, has begun to replace written communication with face-to-face communication, providing HP with a competitive advantage.
