Summary
My first experience with DTC ads was a bit like looking for a new apartment: a few stood out, but after a while most simply merge into one. According to the advertisement, Ambien is the No 1 prescribed sleep aid and "works like a dream." The guy can't sleep and plods around the house while his wife (and dog) snooze blissfully. He takes the product and bingo! Out like a light. It's well directed with good casting. Then the risk info: on and on and on, I nearly dropped off myself. The GSK corporate ad is a feel-good spot; a visual potpourri of scientific equipment, research centers and mathematical equations. A presenter tells us that the impressive hardware we're looking at costs more than a space shuttle mission and that GSK is pouring vast amounts of profit back into Alzheimer's research. It's beautifully paced, well shot and gets its point across.
