Mark Bostleman of Project Village tracked three of five bid packages on a $32 million public project. While 6,554 "E" size-equivalent documents were ordered and printed, the project illustrates a "download gap." Of 100 percent of the documents moved, 60 percent of them were ordered from a reprographer and printed, Bostleman says. "The other 40 percent were downloaded," he added. "So I would suggest that 40 percent represents a cut in revenue for the reprographer."
