I read an article the other day about Americans revising their retirement plans. A series of Gallup polls showed the number of people who plan to wait until after age 62 to retire has grown from 36 percent six years ago to 57 percent today.
Some of that, I suspect, may be due to the declines in the stock market during those six years. This has knocked down the value of the investments that many retired people hoped to live on, or at least forced them to revise how much they expected their investments to grow in coming years.See the full content of this document
