Work will start this week on a pilot system in which voters can cast ballots where they choose instead of in precincts.

The voting center system is offered in other states but untried in Indiana. The centers will replace precinct voting locations in Tippecanoe and Wayne counties this year. Instead of dozens of precincts, several large centers will be established throughout the counties where people would cast ballots.
