Summary
My father worked for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, now part of CSX, and our family moved all over the country. We lived in a suburb of New York City, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Cleveland, Ohio, and ended up in Richmond when I was in 10th grade.
I was fortunate enough to get into the University of Virginia, where I received a bachelor of science in commerce from the McIntire School. I had a professor who taught a class on investments and was a trust officer at a bank in Charlottesville. For a 19-year-old, everything about the class made sense because of the way the teacher dressed, the way he talked and the way he got excited about the securities business.
