The first time I heard [Tim Reynolds] play live was six or seven years ago at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma. By then-even though I'm not the world's biggest fan "of the Dave Matthews Band-I'd been introduced to Reynolds's playing by those who are in that fan club. Reynolds has participated in many DMB recordings and tours over the years, and the one that particularly caught my attention was the 1999 double live disc, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds: Live at Luther College. Reynolds's fluid acoustic guitar work impresses the heck out of me, now that I can hear it up-front and center without an entire band involved. That's in present tense because I'm listening to the recording again as I'm writing this.
