Summary


[Greg Oden] is the first Big Ten player selected with the first pick of the annual draft since Glenn Robinson of Purdue in 1994. Since 1947, 44 Ohio State basketball players have been drafted by NBA teams. Oden, [Mike Conley Jr.] and [Daequan Cook] join Michael Redd, now in his eighth year with the Milwaukee Bucks, as former Buckeyes currently active in the NBA.

"I'm a better player because of that year in col lege," Oden said. "Coach [Thad Matta], he taught me so much, first about being a young man growing up in Columbus. They [Portland] did have a bad reputation, but I think Brandon [Roy] and LaMarcus [Aldridge] kind oi turned that around. I hope that I can come and just push that along some more."
