More than 50,000 signs make up the Sign Post Forest along the Alaska Highway in Canada's Yukon Territory.

The first was put there in 1942 by a homesick U.S. Army G.I. who was working on the highway near Watson Lake. His sign pointed the way and mileage to his hometown of Danville, Ill.
