With the acquisition of Dallas-based Professional Bank under his belt and another on the way, veteran banker C. Malcolm Holland has created a new Texas community bank in Dallas. Veritex Community Bank made its debut in Dallas on January 1, when the name change for Professional Bank's three branches became official. Since the acquisition, the bank has surpassed growth expectations, hiring more than a dozen experienced banking executives, relationship specialists and retail professionals, and making community loans, which are a boost to the local economy. Veritex provides depository and credit services to retail and small to mid-sized businesses, which are sometimes neglected by national banks.
