A recent Harris Interactive poll found that one-third of workers ages 25 to 39 feel burned out by their jobs. An increased workload forces the worker into multi-tasking. While multi-tasking may be effective for a short period of time, over the long term, multi-tasking causes excessive stress. By learning how to multi-task efficiently, one can dramatically reduce the workday stress, increase one's productivity and enjoy the work once again. The following are some techniques that will help one mentally slow down so one can finally learn how to multi-task and master this essential business skill. These are: 1. Practice how to multi-task. 2. Know when a task requires undivided attention. 3. Use a tool to help one multi-task. 4. Allow one's mind to re-boot. 5. Take a brain break. 6. Do more with less stress.
