On Nov. 1, 2008, The Rev. Michael K. Bouie, M. Div., was appointed as the 30th pastor of Mount Hermon African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, Fort Lauderdale, FIa. He, wife Lady Tamira Bouie and daughter Micah have enhanced the South Florida community in exemplifying a new day for mission and ministry. The officers and members of Mount Hermon AME Church are excited and grateful for Pastor Bouie's vision in securing the permanent permit for the Henry McNeal Turner Academy and Family Life Center (HMTAFLC) in celebrating the upcoming Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11 a.m., 404 N. W. Seventh Terrace, Fort Lauderdale.
Pastor Bouie succeeds Bishop John F. White, Sr., who was elected and consecrated the 130th Bishop of the AME Church. It was Bishop White who inspired the vision of Mount Hermon's Family Life Center, opening in mid-January, 2009. Mount Hermon, under Pastor Bouie, begins a new day of mission and ministry and the writing of a new chapter in history.Mount Hermon's life enrichment and outreach is also increasing - evidenced by our commitment to open the HMTAFLC in the fall of 2009.
