The ICBA needs a chief community banker spokesman who not only thoroughly understands banking and finance, but also is a skilled advocate and articulate communicator. R. Michael S. Menzies Sr, president and CEO of Easton Bank and Trust Co is clearly such a community banker, according to his colleagues and friends and community banking peers. During the ICBA National Convention and Techworld in Phoenix, Menzies will begin volunteering a year of his time and talents to serve as a point man for ICBA and its 11-member executive committee for the upcoming year. By any measure, ICBA's incoming chairman has the knowledge, temperament, character and natural talents to help lead ICBA during these challenging times, according to his coworkers and colleagues. After receiving a degree in economics from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA, Menzies earned his Certified Public Accountant certificate after studying at Loyola College in Baltimore. Those who personally know Menzies best are unanimous in referring to his innate integrity.
