Summary


It began as an idea born out of frustration over the distance people had to travel from Chesapeake for medical care. It germinated from W. Stanley Jennings, M.D., who back in the 1950s felt Chesapeake was being short-changed.

After 20 years of meetings and planning, Chesapeake General Hospital opened its doors in Jan. 1976.
