MANY Malaysians will be surprised to know that Volkswagen, which is famous for the loveable air-cooled Beetle, is only now setting up a presence locally. On Feb 17, the corporate headquarters of Volkswagen Group Malaysia was opened in an elaborate ceremony in the presence of Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department. This marks VW AG's entry into the Malaysian market after having relied on the services of local importers and distributors in the past.
