Drilling and machining standard

Master Tool Corp. has revised the HSK hollow tapered shank to create a new machining and drilling standard. The new standard, called MTK, maintains all the inherent features of HSK while minimizing its disadvantages. It is very useful for heavy-duty applications, such as rough boring and face milling. MTK also allows open access for cleaning and coolant flow.

The new HSK hollow tapered shank (DIN standard 69893) succeeds admirably in high-speed rotating spindle applications (15,000 rpm and up) for drilling and machining aluminum, according to John Cirino, president, Master Tool Corp, Grand River, OH.
