Year 2000 date transition problem for computers

The topic of the Y2K or millenium bug involving the issue of date transition for computers worldwide has hardly been avoidable in the English-speaking world. Most of the nation's businesses are attempting to address the problem, which can be resolved using either one of two fundamental solutions. Most companies have opted to use the solution of changing the data their computers run on rather than altering the logic by which the computers operate. This means that many firms are going in the wrong direction to solve the Y2K problem.

Unless one has been out of touch with the English speaking world for the past six months, it's hard to escape the realities of the Year 2000 problem - a.k.a. Y2K and the Millennium Bug.
