The Lancaster Literary Guild named Daina Savage the second Lancaster County poet laureate at First Friday festivities Oct. 1 at the guild home, 113 N. Lime St.

"Her interests in building a literary community and raising the profile of poetry in Lancaster County make her the ideal choice," said her predecessor, Barbara Buckman Strasko, calling Savage "a master at organizing poetry events and inspiring poets to write and perform."
